Corona Virus Coming Again In India


COVID-19 cases in India rose by nearly 300, a trend observed so far. Nine deaths were reported across 4 states.

COVID-19 surge in India: India's active Covid-19 cases witnessed a sharp rise following a brief decline on Friday. The active Covid-19 tally has risen to 7,400, with 269 new infections reported in the past 24 hours, according to the latest data released on Saturday by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The report also confirmed nine fatalities during the same period.

 

Of the nine reported fatalities, four were from Maharashtra, three from Kerala, and one each from Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. Among the deceased was a 34-year-old man from Maharashtra, while the remaining eight were elderly individuals with underlying respiratory issues and chronic health conditions.

COVID-19 death toll rises

Maharashtra has seen 25 deaths from COVID-19 so far, The state reported 4 fresh deaths on June 14 alone. While Kerala reported 3 and one each from Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. Experts have shared that the symptoms of the COVID-19 variants NB.1.8.1 and LF.7 are mild. But being highly transmissible, unvaccinated adults with low immunity and underlying health conditions become extremely prone to the COVID-19 JN.1 protein mutations, the most recent strain affecting residents.
